چکیده

The pharmacological screening of some crude extracts obtained from different marine algae collected the Mediterranean in Alexandria region Egypt has been conducted. methanol, butanol, and ethyl acetate Pterocladia capillacea, Ulva lactuca Corallina mediterranea showed inhibitory activity against growth Lemna minor plant. methanol petroleum ether (VII) exhibited significant antioxidant 92.2 84.6%, respectively, DPPH free radical scavenging assay. capillacea remarkable butyrylcholinesterase. extract (III) high antiglycation (69.4% 65% with IC50 0.0596 ± 0.0447 mM 0.138 0.0441 mM, respectively). fasciata (I) potently inhibited oxidative burst phagocytes whole blood analysis (97.99%) at a concentration 400 µg/mL.  Scanning by electron microscope (SEM) successful encapsulation bioactive algal into calcium alginate beads. Tested macroalgae have potential to produce metabolites antifungal, phytotoxic, antioxidant, anticholinesterase, antiglycation, immunomodulating activities.

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Anticoagulant and Anti-inflammatory Potentials of Some Egyptian Marine Algae

Marine algae are significant ingredients to formulate drugs for treating disease as they possess various bioactive potentials. Different marine algae (Laurencia papillosa and cylindrica (red algae) were collected from Red Sea (Faied and Ein Al-SokhnaSuez). Ulva fasciata (green algae) was collected from the Mediterranean Sea (Abu-Qir near Alexandria) and Dilophus fasciola (brown algae) was colle...

Encapsulation of Lactic Acid Bacteria in Calcium Alginate Beads for Bacteriocin Production

Investigations on encapsulation of lactic acid bacteria in alginate beads were carried out. For this purpose a bacteriocin producing strain Enterococcus faecium A 2000 was used. For the production of capsules with a small diameter (0.8-1 mm) an electrostatic generator was applied. To enhance of the capsule stability, the fermentation was performed in modified MRS medium without phospates and wi...

Introduction of Marine Algae Extracts

Recently, there is increased interest in naturally produced active compounds as alternatives to synthetic substances. Although these compounds often show lower activity, they are nontoxic and do not leave residues. It has already been reflected by the projects of new law regulations in EU countries that have imposed legal restrictions on the use of xenobiotics as plant protection products or pr...
